Bobovnik: types and conditions of cultivation

The bobovnik is deciduous trees or shrubs belonging to the legume family. This is a small genus in which there are two natural plant species and one hybrid. In nature, bean grass is found in the Mediterranean region, Central Europe, but since 1560, after using it in culture, the distribution borders of the plant have expanded greatly. Bobovnik is a very beautiful, elegant plant, which has long hanging droplets of moth golden flowers, which are characteristic of the legume family.

Anagiolis bobovnik: general description

This type of plant is the most common. It is a small tree, reaching a height of about 7 m. It is often used for a single planting, as a result of which its funnel-shaped crown with hanging branches looks very good, as well as for organizing magnificent bersos, where it looks more like a vine.

And if you walk through this flowering fragrant tunnel created by a plant, you immediately understand why it got another name - Golden Rain.

Laburnum is the Latin name for the tree, literally translated as "bean-shamrock." The beaver came to Russia at the beginning of the 19th century. Initially, it was grown in the Caucasus, in the Crimea, as well as in Central Asia. Now the planting material of this plant is more accessible, but before you plant it in your own area, you should well assess the possibility of such cultivation.

Growing conditions for anovirus bean

Bobovnik is thermophilic, and tolerates temperatures only up to -23-26 degrees Celsius. As a result, in the colder winter period, its annual growths will freeze, and old shoots may also suffer. Severe Moscow frosts will not allow the plant to turn into a tree, reaching only the size of a bush no more than 3 meters high. The only fact that saves the plant is its high growth rate (25 cm per year), which allows the bean tree to recover. As a result, we can conclude that this plant is better suited for cultivation in the southern regions. In the Caucasus and Crimea, it will not only please you with beautiful flowering and fruiting, but also self-sowing.

Growing a bean bearer in the middle lane is a rather complicated matter. Only the right choice of place and time of planting will provide him with favorable conditions for growth. Like any other thermophilic plant, the bean planted in the spring, even if the material is container. When buying a bean plant for landing, pay attention to the country of origin. Plants grown in the Netherlands, Italy or Belgium are not suitable for planting in central Russia, exclusively for the southern regions. So it is advised to use planting material from Northern Germany. But even in this case, severe and prolonged winter frosts can kill the plant.

It should also be borne in mind that the most frost-resistant and hardy plants are obtained when growing a bean tree from seeds.

Despite the fact that the bean tree grows quite well in partial shade, in our conditions it is better to choose a well-warmed, sunny and protected from the north winds place. For planting, you can use tree-shrub groups, which are more preferable than single plantings in an open place.

In general, the bean tree prefers calcium-rich soils, but it also treats slightly acidic cultivated loam very well, and even grows well under acidic soil. Pretty unpretentious to moisture, loves any fresh land, but drought-resistant, it needs to be watered only in particularly dry periods. Mulching contributes to good root growth.

It is better to shelter young plantings for the first two to three years. For this, it is best to use a nonwoven covering material of brand 60 with several layers. It is better to sprinkle the root system for extra protection with compost.

Alpine Bobber

This type of plant is more hardy. In nature, it is a tall tree, on average reaching 10 meters in height. It differs from anagirolifolia bean tree with light green foliage, smaller flowers that do not have aroma, as well as bare beans. Also, one of the distinguishing features is that the alpine bean blossoms a little later.

Boberer of Waterrera - a magical hybrid

Voterera bobovnik is a hybrid of the two previous described species, often found under a different name - intermediate bobovnik. It has a dark green long foliage, the length of which reaches 50 cm, silky-pubescent fruits, inflorescences. A magical fragrance has become a legacy from the bean anagiolistic. But this species is less hardy, because in Moscow it reaches no more than 1 meter in height. It often freezes and does not bloom at all. So this plant is suitable only for the south. Such a bean propagates by cuttings.

One of the options for growing bean beetle is an attachment culture with wintering in a cold greenhouse or basement. But there is one drawback to this method - the large weight of the container plant.

Using the beanbob: where and how

In fact, the bean tree is a poisonous plant. Moreover, everything is poisonous about the part, especially the seeds. They have a large number of dangerous alkaloids - laburnin and cytisine. Bobovnik is one of the most poisonous plants of the European flora, since even two accidentally eaten fruits can lead to a mortal threat to the life of a child.

In this regard, when growing a bean tree in areas, it is necessary to limit access to it for children and animals. But at the same time goobobs are very fond of goats, it is not for nothing that he got the name Goat Clover. Also, the plant is an excellent honey plant.

In its structure, cytisine is very similar to nicotine. During the First World War, even tobacco was not used for cigarette rolls, namely this plant. It is currently used in smoking medications and in homeopathy.

Very beautiful, well-polished and hard beaver wood is valued as a material for wooden sculptures, musical instruments, inlays. In ancient times, it was used to create crossbows, bows, not inferior to yew trees.
