Varieties of apple trees of summer ripening are many. Recently, the Orlovim cultivar, which was bred at the research institute for the selection of fruit crops, has been especially popular with gardeners. The apple tree of this variety is a leader among the category of late summer fruit trees. It is characterized by high productivity and early maturity. The tree is frost-resistant: even during very cold winters with a drop in temperature to -35 ºะก, the Orlovim apple tree does not receive significant damage.

General information

Orlovim apples have extraordinary gustatory qualities and attractive appearance. At the ripening phase, the fruits have a greenish tint. By the period of active consumption, the fruits acquire a light yellow color and a blush on the sides. The shape of the apples is conical.

Planting and Care Rules

The technology for planting fruit seedlings of the Orlovim variety is not particularly difficult. It should be guided by the basic requirements.

  1. Garden plantings require a well-lit place. Neglect of this planting rule can cause a significant decrease in the sugar content of apples and adversely affect yield indicators.
  2. Apple trees do not tolerate moisture stagnation in the area. If there is a risk of flooding of landings, it is necessary to perform a quality drainage or embankment. Groundwater must pass at a depth of at least two meters.
  3. Garden plantings need moisture-proof and sufficiently breathable soil. The best soil option for planting may be loamy, sandy loam, floodplain soil, as well as leached chernozem. The parameters of soil acidity should be 5.6-6.0.
  4. Apple trees are classified as frost-resistant crops. However, in order to preserve the health and immunity of garden plantings, it is very important to mulch trunks with horse humus during early frosts and low snowy winters, followed by the use of covering materials.

Basic care is carried out according to the standard scheme and includes the implementation of preventive measures in order to prevent defeat by diseases or fruit pests, if necessary, medical procedures are carried out. In addition, top dressing, irrigation and high-quality loosening of the soil around the garden should be carried out.

Harvesting and storage

In the climatic conditions of the middle zone of our country, the period of mass ripening of fruits is observed in the last decade of August. Harvesting of the ripened crop should be carried out very carefully to minimize impacts and damage to fruits collected from the apple tree.
